INTERPRETING (SPOKEN) SERVICES, SOMETIMES REFERRED TO "TRANSLATION" SERVICES
I mentioned here “Translation Services” too because the difference between interpreting and translation services for some people seems to be unclear. Interpreting Services is a spoken one, whereas Translation Services is a written one. I do offer both, but I am more specialised in Interpreting Services!
If you wish to have a quality meeting with your Japanese business partner, why not use the services of a professional native Japanese interpreter based in Europe to make things run smoothly and without the risk of misunderstanding? You will definitely save time and unnecessary effort. They might speak in English, but…
The following information will be required for a quotation:
- Interpreting Modes
Yoko offers two interpreting modes namely whispering and consecutive.
Whispering: Whispering is an interpreting mode whereby the interpreter is seated next to one or two meeting participants and whispers the interpretation of the speech. This mode is used mainly when only one or two people need interpretation. Whispering is not recommended when there are more than two listeners.
Consecutive: The interpreter providing consecutive interpretation sits at the same table with the delegates or at the speaker’s platform and interprets a speech into the target language after the speaker speaks. The length of the speeches varies.
- Business Situation Description (ex. Company meeting, Company and Factory visit, Exhibition etc.)
- Subject Area (ex. automotive industry etc.)
- Purpose of Business (ex. negotiation, incentive visit, etc.)
- Date and Duration
How we price our Interpreting (spoken) Services:
Our pricing is based on an 8 hour day (including some breaks). We do not offer any services at an hourly rate. This is because preparation time is included in our rate and preparing for an interpretation of one hour or 3 days requires an equal amount of preparation. However, under certain circumstances, we might consider a reduction for less than 4 hours. Our pricing starts from 750€ / day + French VAT 20% (if applicable).
Send us an email providing us with the information we require (see above).
We will get back to you within 36 hours.
GMP AUDITOR SUPPORT SERVICES
The world is getting smaller. Your company most likely has a business relationship with Japanese companies because your company has been acquired by a Japanese company it has acquired a Japanese company. They need to conduct corporate audits, internal audits, and/or external audits on a regular basis. You might face linguistic challenges and/or cultural challenges with Japanese auditors or auditees. If you work with me, I’ll help you over these challenges and obstacles. I have a great deal of experience as an interpreter for Japanese lead auditors and I am, in addition, a trained and accredited GMP lead auditor for the Pharmaceutical industry. I have a lot of experience in working in Food and Beverage industry in German and French as well as Japanese.
For example. Your company is expecting a corporate audit from your parent company from Japan. You speak English but your colleagues speak French/German as a mother tongue. Your auditors need an interpreter. Here I will be the best interpreter for you because I know both these languages as well as GMP audit. I will be there for you to support your language and deal with any cultural issues that may arise.
CROSS-CULTURAL MEDIATOR SERVICES
Language is not the only a hindering communicational challenge in a global company. You might have a dispute with your Japanese colleagues and you feel something wrong with your communication. It could be a language barrier or, most likely, a cultural barrier. Your colleague might know the language but not your culture! You need a place to discuss the issue!
Yoko is an accredited mediator by London School of Mediation and The Franco-German Youth Office in France and Germany and she knows exactly what a mediator should and mustn’t do in a dispute meeting.
Mediation: is a consensual process, based on self-determination which involves participants in a dispute meeting with a neutral third person, a mediator, to help resolve the disagreement.
CROSS-CULTURAL FACILITATOR SERVICES
Language is not the only a hindering communicational challenge in a global company. You can communicate with your Japanese colleagues in English, but you sometimes feel that they are not telling you everything or you cannot tell them everything what matters. It could be a language barrier or, most likely, a cultural barrier. Your colleague might know the language but not your culture!
Yoko is a trained facilitator by ICA UK (Group Facilitation), Association of Facilitators in UK, Zweisicht Akademie in Germany (Dynamic Facilitation) and The Franco-German Youth Office in France and Germany (mediation and facilitation) and she knows exactly what a mediator should and mustn’t do in a dispute meeting. She also leant a graphic facilitation by Graphic Change in UK.
Facilitation refers to the process of designing and running a successful meeting. A facilitator is impartial and is there to conduct a productive meeting to enable the participants to make decisions, solve problems and exchange ideas and information.
Yoko will be there for you to plan an active, productive and effective meeting to guide you to the success!
